NotifyMail is a system extension that listens for a finger connection. When
it receives the connection (for the appropriate user), it will notify you of new email. This can be done by having Eudora check your mail, display a dialog box, playing a sound, displaying a neat mailbox window or running any file. This file could be an AppleScript script. If you aren't using Eudora and your email package is scriptable, you can still use NotifyMail to have it automatically check for mail.
Note: Users of previous versions should record their registration names and numbers, and then remove their NotifyMail Preferences file before installing this version.
Special note for StarNine's PT/Internet Gateway Users: If you are using StarNine's PT/Internet Gateway, you should install the PMSAM AppleScript extension and write an AppleScript that has the following command in it: PMSAM Connect Now "PT/Internet" You should then set NotifyMail to launch this script when new mail arrives. This will cause the PT/Internet gateway to initiate a connection and get your new mail.
System Requirements: System 7.0.0 or higher, MacTCP 1.1 or higher, Eudora 1.4
or higher (optional), POP account on a UNIX or VMS machine or a POP account on a Macintosh running MailShare.
NotifyMail is distributed as shareware. Please see the documentation
for more instructions.
